  14. We are interested in buying a 28.8 modem for use with a Power Macintosh 
  15. 7500. This modem will be used for remote login to a unix system, at first 
  16. via the usual text only mode and soon thereafter by PPP. We also need the 
  17. modem to support Apple Remote Access 2.0. Faxes are relatively 
  18. unimportant. We are looking at the Global Village Teleport Platinum, the 
  19. Supra28.8 (the good one) and a US Robotics Sportster.

  21. We are particularly interested in how dependable these three are for PPP, 
  22. Zmodem and ARA. ARA is a must. We have noticed that not all manufacturers 
  23. supply ARA scripts with their modems, and would like to be sure that a 
  24. modem would work for this purpose before we buy it. (I have a GV TP 
  25. Platinum. It works for all of this stuff, but I am not thrilled with its 
  26. dependability or stability on the line.)
